thetravelthing.com has a long and varied history. It started in November 2000 as an online travel diary for myself and two friends during a round-the-world trip. It had to be re-made after catching fire in a server room, but luckily served its purpose until we returned home in July 2001.

From 2001, to 2005 it went through a series of reincarnations as an online photography portfolio, until December of 2005 when it started up once again as an online travel diary for my cousin Matty on his round-the-world trip.

So now it's once again an online photography portfolio, inspired by travel.
